Thanksgiving Break

I'm a little late in posting about my Thanksgiving break. Since then, we have started back to work, moved into our new house, and fairly completed the living room dining room and kitchen. (Updates on the house will come later.)

For Thanksgiving, Chad and I traveled to Tyler for a very short visit with our family. We got there late Tuesday night, visited with my parents for a little bit, and then fell right asleep!

Wednesday we woke up and while Chad had to work, I babysat a very sick Victoria while Angela was working so my mom could get some things cooking. She takes after her Tia, spreading out all those kleenex's when she is sick. :) Wished she would have been feeling better! Later, Clint and Kristen showed up! Kristen and I headed out to Marshall's to see what kind of "steals" they had. I love digging through the stuff at Marshall's, and I always love to go in Tyler since we don't have one in Abilene. We ended up finding some cute sweat suits for all the girls to wear when we went shopping (black Friday!) and a few Christmas gifts. :) Later, Angela finally came home, yay! Kristen had made some pies and they all looked so yummy, that we took a vote on which one to go ahead and cut before Thanksgiving Day. Lemon Chess won and it was soooo good!
Thursday we headed out to Chad's mom's house. Spencer and April were there too! We were so excited about spending the day with them. We had a really good time eating breakfast together taking pictures and visiting. Spencer showed us all how to figure out a rubix cube. (He's really good.) April brought her dog, Lucy. She is a blonde dauchsaund, very pretty! After breakfast, we went over to Chad's aunt and uncle's house with his dad and grandma. It is always a fun time over there, because Chad's 2 cousins Micaela and Katie always keep us very entertained! :) We played chess, 4 man chess, ping pong, pin the tail on the turkey, climbed trees, etc. etc. etc. This is a really cool chess board that Chad's uncle had made a long time ago out of old tools: To end the day, we went back to my parents to see my Aunt, Johnny, and my cousins for just a little bit, I wish I could have spent more time with them. The guys hung out outside by the firepit, we made a few s'mores, and then the girls settled inside to lay out our plan for Black Friday shopping. (Yes, we are one of those crazy sets of families that wakes up at 3:30 AM to go out and find a "good deal" and watch all of the other crazy people around us.)

Friday morning we went shopping (remember? We woke up at 3:30 am). Friday night my mom and I drove to Abilene...(Arrival time 12:30 am, yes am, middle of the night). To say the least, we were exhausted. My mom and I woke up Saturday and started working on moving our stuff to the new house. Later, my Dad, Jared, Victoria, Clint, Kristen and Chad arrived to help. We got our stuff moved over, and Sunday morning everyone woke up to leave. Unfortunately, they got stuck in the horrible Thanksgiving traffic. Their typical 4 1/2 hour drive to them 7 1/2 hours. Yuck!

We had a wonderful time for Thanksgiving. It was packed, fast, and not restful at all, but we loved it. I just wish I could have one more Thanksgiving break! ;) Oh well, Christmas break is not too long around the corner!
