Some "Steals"

Looking back to the weekend Chris & Rebecca visited, I had mentioned that Rebecca & I went shopping for some "steals." This was a favorite past time of ours. And, no, I do not mean we go steal clothes. I mean we go buy clothes for insanely cheap prices. It's fun, and I thought I'd share some of the fun with you:
First up is a little pink jacket for Victoria. I do not know the original price because it didn't have a tag. But after looking it up on the computer, the clerk rang it up at about 3 dollars. :)
Next up are some jogging type pants to go with the pink jacket in black and brown for Victoria. They were originally 10.50 each but I bought them for a whopping 2.00 each! And, the pink pants in the middle were originally 12.50 but I got them for 3.00!! :)
Next up is something for myself. I had already bought a couple from Rue21. So, I took Rebecca there because she wanted some. I ended up getting another for myself. This shirt was originally 10.99. We got them for 3 dollars each. Who wouldn't buy an extra for themselves? ;)Last, but not least...
My favorite...
And by far the best "steal" of the day...
These jackets.
Originally 19.50, we left the store buying 2 each (1 blue, 1 pink) at 3 dollars a piece.
They may not be the latest and greatest fashions. But they will go with anything and are CHEAP. All together, 3 pants and a jacket for my niece and a shirt and 2 jackets for me all at 19 dollars total...we will definitely call those "steals." So, there ya go ma. I know you're proud! ;)

*Oh and sorry the pictures are not the best. My camera and I are in a fight right now.

Rebecca & Chris Visit!

Some of our dearest friends from college came to visit us last weekend! Chris and Rebecca moved away last summer and this was there first time to come back and visit. We were so excited! Unfortunately, they came while we are still mid tile renovation. But that's okay, they totally understood. We had a lot of fun in the short time they were here. We went and ate an old favorite of restaurants and then we went to watch Inception. It was a pretty good movie. Oh, and remember, this is the same night that Chad fell off the bed in his sleep. Ha! Later we came back to the house and just sat around on our miscellaneous chairs in the living room and caught up. The next morning we went and got donuts. Then, Rebecca and I set out on our old times of shopping for all of the "steals". We got some really great ones too that I will share in another post. I'm talking about a jacket for 3 dollars!!!? Come on...we definitely know HOW TO shop! We went and grabbed some lunch at Jason's Deli. Came back and I shared some of my 'technology' teaching stuff with Chris for a class he will be teaching in the fall to college students. Shortly after, it was time for them to head back home. It was a short visit packed with a lot of fun! We both can't wait for the next time. Hopefully soon! :) You can read more about her visit, here.

Lack of Sleep Does Funny Things

Recently Chad has been staying up too late working on this tile project. He wakes up early to return to his regular job and comes home again to begin tiling again. He's ready to have it finished. So am I. We've found some humor in his lack of sleep stages because he has done some pretty funny things in his sleep.
One morning he was talking to me in his sleep a bunch of nonsense and mid-sentence he woke up and stopped himself just to say "I'm obviously not answering the question you just asked me." We laughed.
Well, this week topped them all. I woke up in the middle of the night to Chad raising up really fast (I thought he might have heard something...nope he was sleeping). He proceeded to scoot to the end of the bed while I'm yelling at him. He quickly scooted to the end of the bed where he then fell off head first, taking all of the covers with him. I laughed and laughed and laughed. It was definitely the funniest thing I had seen in a LONG time. He just simply poked his head up over the bed and said "What?" He was confused why he was down there but more confused why I couldn't stop laughing. He got back into bed (after asking me to "be quiet so he could sleep") and fell right back asleep again.
When he woke up in the morning he couldn't remember any of it. All he remembered was being confused why he was on the floor with all the covers around him. I reminded him of how he scooted to the end of the bed until he fell off and we laughed for a long time. Later that morning I told Rebecca (her and Chris were in town). And she came to the conclusion that he was probably thinking about Inception and trying to fall in order to wake up from his dream. We laughed again. It could happen!
We eventually decided we needed to make a video remake of what had happened. He volunteered to video and me be the actor. So, here you have it in all it's reenacting Chad in his sleep last night. Gotta love him! *Oh and thanks Chad for letting me share this with all of blogger world! :)

So, what kind of funny things does YOUR husband do in his sleep? hahahaha

Top 2 Tuesday!

I've been 'eye-ing' this blog for a little while now. I love how every Tuesday she hosts a "Top 2" event. I've been wanting to participate but usually do not remember until Wednesday! (woops!) Not this week though! This week is all about:

"Top 2 Simple Pleasures"

1. 'The Summer'-This is a much needed vacation time for me. I use this time to rest up, visit family, take small vacations, and revise things for the new school year. I always feel ready when the school year starts back up. Thank you summer!

2. 'All Things Sweet'-If you know me even a little bit, you know I have a LOVE for candy, cakes, cookies and anything sweet! Dessert is my favorite. MMMmmmm....I just got finished eating a strawberry cupcake with rainbow chip frosting. Can't beat that!

The Clowns Visit pt. III

The next morning we woke up and packed up. Mom wanted to take a little mini photo session before the clowns left. So, we did just that.

And, no photo session with clowns is complete without a goofy picture:

Or, monkey pictures:

Until next time ... clowns!!

One last video memory from the entire weekend.

The Clowns Visit pt. II

Because shopping and traffic are much more manageable here, one of my mom's top priorities was to take the boys school shopping for their birthday.
We spent most of the day speed shopping. Then we came home to rest and take the boys fishing.

After we were all shopped up, fished up, and rested up we headed out to Chili's for dinner:

We were loud, obnoxious, spilled drinks and had a lot of silly simple requests. That's what happens when you bring clowns with you. We apologized a million times for our craziness. *Sorry again Chili's* But our waiter was 'world's best waiter' and handled all of our craziness quickly and never once complained. Just after finishing our chili queso (yum), our waiter came to tell us our food was running late so they were going to offer us a free dessert. (We had NO idea our food was behind...but we took the offer kindly, smiled and said thank you...and that molten cake was D-lish!)

After dinner we took a quick trip to visit Chad's work. Dylan was impressed!

Oh and when Chad's around, I become chopped liver.
Dear Victoria,
Please don't forget me.

Love, Tia Carla

Finally, off to Primetime. This was the highlight of the trip for the boys!!

Thanks dad for the awesome grill. Clint would be impressed:

Just clownin' around...
