I Cooked!...

...Or baked I guess. You'd be so proud! I found this recipe for strawberry swirl cream cheese pound cake on the cover of Southern Living magazine and thought it looked de~lish. As always I flipped to the recipe and read it through. It usually stops there and I close the magazine or read something else with no desire to actually bake anything. Yesterday something inside of me said, I can do that!

So Hubs and I made a trip to the grocery store and we got the ingredients needed as well as some other groceries (Martin and Hillary were coming over and we were cooking a 'beer can chicken'). We all had a job to make it a fantastic dinner. Hillary was in charge of the corn dip, Chad the potatoes, Martin the chicken and I the cake! Of course my cake did not turn out exactly like the picture but it was very yummy!! :) I used a 4 mini loaf pan and this 9x9 pan to cook mine in. No pictures of the mini loaves because they are almost gone! *WooPs!*

The only bad thing was this morning I went to cook some biscuits in the oven for breakfast and they came out tasting like chicken. :/ Hmmmm....guess it's time to clean the oven!

  2. You should! It took a little while to make because I'm slow, but it wasn't too hard. It's kind of a mix between angel food cake and pound cake. Let me know if you try it!
