Love This Little Monkey...

For the 2 days at my parents house, most of my time was spent with this little monkey...

I watched her while her mom and dad were working during the day. She had a little cold so we mostly laid around watching cartoons, playing with barbies and drinking our orange juice. (More pictures to come later) But we still had some fun outside.

Walk Now for Autism Speaks

Our school works with so many precious kiddos who are under the "autism spectrum" umbrella. I also have 3 students who are in my classroom that I work with day in and day out. They are all very special and close to our hearts. If you feel the need, please help our school in an effort to raise money towards raising awareness and supporting Walk Now for Autism Speaks. To donate, click the link below. Thank you, in advance, for all of your contributions!

Victoria's Big Girl Gym

Once Chad and I left Austin, we headed for East Texas. My niece, Victoria, had Gym practice that night and we were going to surprise her there. She had no idea we were coming. We got there before gym time so we met her at my parents house to surprise her. We hid to the side of the house and 'grandma' told her to go look outside. She was confused as to why she needed to go look outside in the middle of eating her PB&J, but she went anyway. She saw us sitting on the side of the house, and the look on her face was PRICELESS. She was wide-eyed. I wish I would have captured that moment. She screamed "CARLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and ran up to me and danced in my arms. We all got a good laugh out of that. It wasn't much longer before we left for gym. This is our first time we have seen Victoria on the 'big girl' side of the gym. She balances on the tall beam and gets on the bars by herself now! Lighting made it really hard to get many good pictures, but she was adorable. She loves her gym class!

Clint & Kristen's Engagements

While in Austin for SXSW Kristen had asked if I could take some 'engagement' pictures for her and Clint. I was delighted to! We took pictures late one afternoon near downtown, off a street named Congress, which had some great backgrounds to use. We ended with a bridge in ATX. Kristen already knew most of the pictures and poses she wanted so they were so easy to take pictures of. All I had to do was position up, play with my settings and snap away. We had a lot of fun. (We as in Kristen and I...picture taking is not exactly Clint's forte, but we still got some good shots and managed to not take too long in the process). ;) This was my first time taking pictures of people with my camera, and I really enjoyed it! Here are some of my favorites...

And my favorite...A little sun-flare...
