Hubs and I took a trip to Cali over Spring Break this year to visit his brother and SIL. We were super pumped about the trip...so much so that I started laying out my outfits about 2 weeks ahead of time. What else is a girl to do??? ;) I had our outfits planned out to a T and in the end we wore everything I packed and had just enough. (And I loved every minute of it!!!) I also worked on picking out a new bag to carry. I love my current purse but it isn't exactly the best bag for a carry all when being touristy and walking everywhere. And my regular cross-body bag was way too small. I found this bag at Old Navy in black and it was perfect! I loved the idea of having it monogrammed and Hillary's mom has all the materials to do it so she monogrammed it for me and I loved it even more!! (Which, btw, the bag worked out perfectly for the trip!...highly recommend.)
I'd say all my planning of outfits worked out pretty well...I got us all packed in 2 carry-on suitcases and Hubs of course had his backpack with his computer and work stuff. I was pretty impressed with myself. I'm not the typical 'light packer'.
And so our trek began...
We traveled to East Texas to drop off Tye so that my parents could watch him while we were in Cali. We made a pit stop on the way to see our beautiful god-daughter and her wonderful parents! We had a fun little visit but little it was. Always wish we had more time! :/
Isn't she a doll? I can't believe how much she had changed in 4 months! Wish we were closer!!! Here is a comparison picture from Christmas time when we last saw her.
Once we finally arrived at my parent's house I got to spend some time with my favorite little niece! Love this girl soooo much!!!
The next morning was MIL's bday so hubs & I woke up super early to go share breakfast with her before heading out to the airport. Another short but sweet visit here. I think we are starting a pattern...And check out that GIANT cinnamon roll Hubs ordered!!
We left after breakfast to go to Clint & Kristen's house. They offered to take us to the airport as well as pick us up and we were sooo grateful!!! Thanks again guys!!! :) We made it to their house and Daisy immediately recognized our car and started going crazy. She was SO excited to see us...but come to find out I think it was a little because she thought Tye would be with us. Daisy loves her cousin Tye!!! And...she was slightly bummed out when she realized that this was not the case and he was not with us!
We didn't get to visit too long before it was time to head out to the airport. So instead of having lunch we decided to get a little fro-yo on the way. YUM!
Once we made it to the airport we were ready for TAKE OFF!!! This was Hub's second time and my first to fly Virgin America and I was so excited to watch some T.V. on a plane!
Oh and we spotted our first celebrity who would be riding our same plane to LA... :) :) We didn't know who he was (Sorry Mr. Duffy) but knew he was somebody important as I watched person after person ask to take a picture with him. So we sent this sneak attack picture (way to go hubs...pretty sly for a white guy!) to our celebrity guru of the family (Kristen) and she immediately recognized and named him!
How she recognized him from that sneak attack picture...I will never know...Girl loves some E! ;)
